Only One Key Remote?
Many certified preowned cars, trucks, and SUVs are missing the second key remote when purchased. When this occurs you should contact an automotive locksmith right away. Why? When you have at least one factory key, it's far less complicated to add additional keys. When you lose that last key, you fall into an "All Keys Lost" situation in which for many the only option left is the 800 plus dollar dealer OEM remote and program. If you find yourself in an "All Keys Lost" situation, we can help you save you hundreds dollars, but it's definitely a good option to add that second key remote as soon as you possibly can. Tough month financially? Don't worry we offer financing too.
Our Process
Identifying the Key
1. We identifiy the make, model, and year of your vehicle.
2. Next we confirm the type of key or key fob your vehicle uses as well as verify ownership the vehicle needing our service. This also can be done by sending a picture of your key via text (404-770-9886) or via email (mykeys@keykutters.com)
3. Based on the type of key needed, (blade key, blade key with chip, blade key with fob connected, key fobs with flip key, and key fobs with no flip out key or blade key. Based on this we can provide a fair estimate of the replacement cost of the key, as well if we have that key fob on hand.
***We try to keep as many variations of keys on hand, but having every type of key is impossible. In non-emergency situations we can usually have the proper key ready for replacement the very next day.
Key Replacement
1. Once onsite and after verification, we confirm your current key will open and start the vehicle.
2. Next we will cut the blade of the key if applicable and confirm the door and the ignition fit.
3. Then we will start the programming of the key. This process involves special equipment that allows us to communicate with your vehicle and program your key to your specific vehicle.
4. Finally once this is done correctly, we will confirm all of the proper buttons work such as lock and unlock and start your vehicle.
